Sean Evans Carlsbad, California or the upsurge of a serial entrepreneur leader

Get to know Sean Evans and some of his entrepreneurship thoughts: Sean Evans has founded and exited four companies over the last 20 years. Most recently, he founded My Wine Society, raised three rounds of funding and received a valuation of $16 million in 2019. He started and led Wonieva Group (WG), a global consulting agency that focused on the technology, manufacturing, retail athletics, entertainment/live events and beverage industries into a leading PPE supplier, providing masks, gowns and gloves to hospitals and government entities throughout the United States. When COVID-19 emerged globally, WG shifted their focus to help aid with the global pandemic. Leveraging its pre-existing factory relationships overseas with local state/government contracts, WG was able to deliver products at an early rapid rate. WG is registered in 32 states, and is S.A.M Verified US Govt, with a registered DOD CAGE Code and DUNS Number. Find more details on Sean Evans.

Q: How do you generate revenue as a founder? A: The revenue that I see from My Wine Society comes from my investment of time and capital into the company. We generate revenue from wine subscriptions, event ticket sales, and sponsorships. How long did it take you to start making money as a founder? The pandemic put a damper on the initial revenue. When the My Wine Society’s wine subscriptions were launched the revenue started to increase exponentially. Before the end of 2020 MWS was starting to be on track to significant profitability.

Q: Can you tell our readers what it is about the work you’re doing that’s disruptive? When the pandemic hit, the medical supply industry was turned upside down. We have been able to make some meaningful and lasting relationships by providing gloves for hospitals, governments and frontline workers when they needed it most. We hope to continue those relationships long into the future! Can you share a story about the funniest mistake you made when you were first starting? Can you tell us what lesson you learned from that? We made the mistake of accepting credit cards for wholesale accounts. Early on we sold a fairly large order, I think it was $30,000, to a new customer and allowed them to use their credit card. We arranged shipping and sent the goods up to Canada. As soon as they got the tracking info, they called the credit card company and reversed the charges. We never saw the money or the product again unfortunately. But we quickly learned to only accept wire transfers for new customers!

It gives you a sense of direction and makes you more clear on what you want to achieve and it also makes the decision making process easier. You can focus on doing the things that take you towards achieving your objectives.

The climb of a entrepreneur expert : Sean Evans: The role of family offices has changed in the last 20 years, driven by the proliferation of wealth and dramatic increase in the number of millionaires, centimillionaires and billionaires around the world. There also has been a surge in the number of family offices and more sophisticated investors. This new breed of ultra-high-net-worth families in the GCC differs from the “old money” of the past. Their accumulation of wealth is typically more rapid and driven by savvy investment management or entrepreneurism. Many of those joining the ranks of the ultra-high-net-worth include money managers, former hedge fund managers and folks who generated their wealth in private equity. This represents a large population of sophisticated investors with deep networks in the startup and entrepreneurial community who are sitting on tremendous wealth (some estimates put family office total asset value around $6 trillion globally).

The offshore incorporation process is rather simple and fast. In fact, you can register a company in certain countries just within a few days. The incorporation requirements are normally very minimal. The best thing is that many service providers out there can help you with the registration. All you need to do is find a trustworthy provider, pay for service, and supply necessary documents. They will go on and register the company on your behalf. You do not need to travel or care about the hassle of paperwork. As for the company maintenance, it varies according to different jurisdictions. However, you can expect the reporting requirements to be very minimal too. Some countries also offer many exemptions for small businesses in regard to annual compliance. You can always get help from outsourcing services to relieve the burden of accounting or tax filing requirements.

Get to know Sean Evans and some of his entrepreneurship achievements: Don't forget you're the leader! So behave as such. Remember all the things that did not suit the boss from the previous job and do not do it! Be an example, a role model for others and make yourself enjoyable. Although sometimes you will have to make decisions that will not please everyone or maybe even employees will disappoint you, opt for a professional attitude and not a severe one. Talk to them calmly and patiently and explain to them what the problems are and what solutions you have. It builds, therefore, a very good relationship with all the staff, to be appreciated and rewarded as such, on a personal level. Once you make the decision to open your own business you will need to invest a great deal of time and energy in its development, so it is very important that you enjoy what you do and find satisfaction in the activity you carry out.
